Position Overview:
The Orleans Chamber of Commerce is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic intern to support visitor services and gallery operations. This position is ideal for someone interested in tourism, local arts, community engagement, or nonprofit operations. The intern will serve as a welcoming presence for guests, help maintain an inviting space, and promote key community initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist guests in the Orleans Chamber lobby during open hours.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the visitors’ lobby.
• Provide helpful information about things to do, see, and explore in Orleans.
• Monitor the 44 Main Street Gallery and engage with visitors about the Boards in the Stores initiative.
• Explain how visitors can participate in the silent auction and share how proceeds support both the Orleans Chamber and local artists.
• Carry out light administrative tasks as needed (e.g., restocking brochures, updating flyers, assisting with communications).

• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.
• Reliable attendance during scheduled hours.
• Basic knowledge of Orleans or willingness to learn about the area
